The Couple / La Pareja

On a Friday in July, 1986 a baby girl called Lorena was born in Bogota, Colombia, just two months after her birth she was boarding a flight to begin her life, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. On a Friday in October, 1989 a boy called Tom was born in Chesterfield, England, decades later their paths crossed in Cyprus…

Perhaps this is the moment for which you have been created. Esther 4:14

His Story

Growing up, Tom’s formative years were marked by his love for adventure, mischief, and a passion for sports. Aged 18, he set-off to start his university degree at Loughborough University, where he spent the next 3 years completing his Bachelor in Economics.

Once he graduated, Tom joined the British Army Reserve in the infantry. His time with the Mercian Regiment took him on military exercises to Germany, Denmark and (fatefully) Cyprus, where he met Lorena in the summer of 2013.

In 2014, Tom’s career in logistics sent him all across the UK from Glasgow, to Sheffield, to London. Keen for another adventure Tom accepted a senior management role in Ho Chi Minh and they relocated to Asia.

It was infact in a Vietnamese warehouse that Tom laid eyes on Mia, a beautiful cat with beady green eyes and a very feisty disposition.

He loves football, he loves house music, and spoils Mia above all else.

Her Story

A few years after arriving in Ethiopia the UN assigned Hector to Cyprus. He was then sent on various peace-keeping missions in the Middle East and Africa but Cyprus became home for the family. Aged 16, Lorena announced she wanted to study in Australia – her parents ceded to the request on the condition she obtain a place at a good school and a student visa, which she did.

She finished her Bachelors in Management and International Business, at the University of Wollongong then left her beach-front life in Australia for Aberdeen, where she graduated from a Masters in International Relations. She also completed Corporate Law at postgraduate level at the University of London while working.

Lorena’s career took her from Cyprus, to Germany, to London, to Saigon where she began her entrepreneurial journey specializing in the private wealth sector.

She loves cats, she loves pink, and will always challenge the status quo.
