  • The Les Marines Beach in Denia – a long sandy beach about 3 km from the town centre.
  • Playa de la Fossa – Calpe’s family beach and situated by the grand Rock of Ifach.
  • Playa La Granadella in Javea – the idyllic beach for those exploring the coast, it has cafes and restaurants dotted across the promenade.
  • Playa Racó de l’Albir de Alfaz del Pi in Altea – a quaint place to cool off if you’ve been exploring the old town.
  • Playa San Juan in Alicante – for those with time to spare, looking for perfect golden sand that stretches for miles.

  • La Via Verda de Denia – a walkers gem as it passes through the natural route of the old Dénia-Gandia railway line.
  • Montgo Nature Park in Denia – perfect for hikers.
  • El Casco Antiguo de Benidorm – for those looking to recover their strength with a scenic stroll at sunset.
  • Canalobre Caves – have at least 18,000 m2 of caves for those looking to hide away from the summer sun.
  • Fonts d’Algar – located nearby Benidorm and Altea – some of the prettiest waterfalls in the region.
  • Parroquia del Mar in Javea – a masterpiece of architecture, worth stepping into the awe-inspiring “Fisherman’s Church”.
  • La Sella Golf and Spa Marriot – near Denia/Javea – for a fun round of golf.
  • Benidorm Waterparks – it has its (in)famous nightlife but for those who are still kids at heart there are water parks and a zoo to explore.
  • Ibiza – For those who want to keep the party going, ferries leave to Ibiza from Denia/Alicante.

Learn

  • The City of Arts and Sciences – for those who wish to travel just an hour north to Valencia, highly recommended.
  • Denia Castle and Museum – these provide some insight on Spain’s merged heritage throughout the centuries.
  • The Monastery of Sant Jeroni de Cotalba – it was a potential wedding venue for us, seeped in history and by the beach-town Gandia.
  • Santa Faz Monastery, San Juan – further afield but is significant for having St Veronica’s cloth with Jesus face imprinted on it kept there.
  • Castle Santa Barbara and Museum, Alicante – is a gorgeous fortress above Alicante for those looking at spending a few days in Spain.
