How to Get There / Como Llegar

In case you’re wondering how to get to our Wedding – what the local transport is like? Perhaps how to get back when you want to hang up your dancing shoes? We’ll have it all laid out here for you to make your planning as seamless as possible, if not – visit our FAQs.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13

Flights

Whether you’re choosing Skyscanner/Google Flights/any other flight search we suggest the best airport to fly into is Alicante Airport (IATA: ALC, ICAO: LEAL) although you can also fly into Valencia Airport (IATA: VLC, ICAO: LEVC), or explore Barcelona as an option if you want to make your own way down the coastline – ideally reaching Denia/Beniaberg by Thursday 17th August 2023.

We love budget carriers but suggest you book those flights with enough time buffered in to allow for either their delays or cancellations. We’d estimate that you’ll need 3+ hours between your flight landing at ALC/VLC airport to you actually checking in to your accommodation . Please also note that you will need to make your way on the Wedding morning to the designated pickup point for the 10:45 shuttle bus that is going to the church.

Car Rentals

For car rentals visit Hertz, DoyouSpain, Key2Go etc. If you are driving a rental car please ensure you arrive at the PALAU CAR PARK at 11:25 to meet the Groom and walk up to the church together. Please make your way back to Casa Santonja aiming to arrive between 15:35-15:40, not earlier please, for the Welcome.

Transfers

If you aren’t renting a car (please check driving license eligibility for non-EU license holders), the easiest way to get to Denia is with a transfer but there are also bus companies and tickets available on Alsa.com, Flixbus.com and Getbybus.com.

Alternatively fly into Alicante – get the C6 bus to town – and take the tram/train up to Denia with changes (3 – 4 hours) but this is the longest route by far.

As a general guideline if you book a taxi with 2-3 people you can estimate EUR 20 to EUR 30 per person/one way, and if you book a mini-bus with a group of 8-16 you can estimate EUR 9 to 14 per person/one way. A few companies for you to look into include:

Coaches

On our Wedding Day, we’ll be providing our guests a Coach that will go from a designated pick-up point near/in Denia (LA POSADA DEL MAR DENIA HOTEL) to our church in Altea (~10:35) and from there set off carrying all guests back (~14:45) to the banquet venue in Beniarbeig.

Please note that all guests on the Coach are kindly asked to stay close to the rest of the wedding guest group in the Church square. The Wedding Planner will be at PALAU ALTEA CAR PARK, a ten+ minute walk down the cobbled streets of Altea to the bus- the designated car park. The Coach will leave punctually so we urge all guests to remain with the group to avoid being left behind latest 14:45.

Taxis

There is the option of Cabify, Uber, Etaxi, Pide Taxi which are all downloadable apps. In any case our Wedding Planner will be on the grounds to assist you in finding transportation back to your hotel. As a general estimate, for those staying 15 to 25 minutes’ drive away please expect to pay between EUR 18 to EUR 38 depending on the company/distance/hour/route.
